Saturday night was one of those times. We are Realtors and sold the home of two very good friends. As a closing gift we bought a bottle of Opus One and went up to visit them at their new home in Atlanta for the weekend. Saturday night we popped the cork on the 2004 version of Opus and had a glass before going out. It lived up the expectations you would have for the famous Bordeaux style wine of the Mondavi and Rothschild joint venture. The last bottle I had was 4 years ago, also a closing gift for this same couple on a different house. It tasted just like I remembered! Wow!
To top it off we went out for the evening to a greek restaurant and shared a bottle of Turkish wine with Gyro’s and Bakalava. It was good also but in a light fun sort of way. This was my first bottle of Turkish wine and it was really easy - kind of a Beaujolais style and went really well with the food choices. We had a relaxing evening in a Greek restaurant where the owner just took over suggesting appetizers, and other fare while we enjoyed hanging out and relaxing with our friends.
Just how wine should be enjoyed in my opinion with good friends, good food and fun conversation. I hope you had a weekend like mine.

This is very nice. As a closing gift I always give my clients a bottle of wine to enjoy in their new home.
